Top 5 things to do in Bondi Beach this Spring

By Amanda Graci, Co-Founder & Chief of Mindfulness, Bondi Yoga House   The smell of coconut sunshine, whale and dolphins sightings, epic sunrises are just the beginning of spring in Bondi.  If you close your eyes you can almost smell the salt water and feel the heat on your face….yes… I just love it!   Here are some of my favourite things to do in Spring time in our Bondi Beach bubble.

Coastal walk for Sculptures by the Sea Yes this is a manic time in Bondi as busloads of tourists make their way to the east to check-out the sculptures, but the best kept secret is to come early, around sunrise.  Not only do you get to take in the sun coming up over the beach, you get to enjoy clear paths on the coastal walk and time to take in each sculptures. The only place you will have to wait is in line for a coffee at The Grounds cafe pop-up in Marks Park.

Bondi Yoga House Retreat Maybe a bit biased but why not spend a whole weekend in Bondi doing yoga, eating healthy food, meeting great people and staying in a beautiful house.  Bondi Yoga House is running their last retreat for the year from Nov 4-6 and it is all about living like a Bondi local.  Check out all the details here.

Bondi Farmers Markets Going to these markets is my Saturday mid-morning ritual.  I love strolling the stalls, picking up fresh produce and hanging out in the sun with friends.  My favourite places to grab a bit is Papermills! They do yummy SPURRITOS!! Yep you heard right, rice paper brown rice (S)burritos….yum! Grab one of these and head to the lawn to chow down and listen to music in the sun.

Enjoy Icebergs Yoga, swim, eat, sauna rinse and repeat.  You can easily spend a whole day here. Kick-off your morning with a class at Yoga by the Sea and take in the best views of Bondi during your warrior two.  Then cool off with some laps in the pool, next grab a coconut from Crab hole and soak up then sun on the steps.  Lastly, detox a bit with a stint in the sauna.  Then seriously rinse and repeat or head upstairs for a drink and continue to soak up the view.

Orchard Street  One of my favourite places in Bondi has got to be Orchard Street. It is a beautiful space and just walking through the front door gets me relaxed.  Pull up a seat in the window or on the day bed and it is a great way to watch the world go by or chat with other locals.  I always go for an elixir.  Choose a remedy, a milk and little extra flavour (salted caramel is my fav).  Then grab one of there organic juices and their raw pad thai for take away!
